Meet John Vasiloff, a passionate tutor at Ready Set Prep. Holding a master’s degree in public policy from the University of Michigan-Dearborn (2014), John specializes in SAT, ACT, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Social Sciences, Writing, and Study Skills. John loves tutoring because it allows him to witness the transformative “light bulb” moment when a struggling student understands the material. Beyond academic success, John believes that helping students overcome difficult material instills confidence and a belief in their ability to achieve through hard work. In his experience, John has consistently seen improvement in his SAT and ACT students, with an average increase of 5 points on the ACT and 300 points on the SAT for those he has worked with over multiple sessions. Recognizing successes is a key aspect of John’s approach. He emphasizes the importance of looking at improvements in grades or test scores, reminding students of their progress during challenging moments. Students under John’s guidance have improved, and he takes pride in highlighting their achievements.
